Towards Better Democracy

Good words, well written, better the world. Good literature betters the world immeasurably.

Dotted in the landscape

Dotted in the landscape
As far as the eye can see
The tumbleweed blown
Where the gophers go
Coyotes howl as night falls
Rocks lie as they have for centuries
Sentinels silhouetted against an
Endless eye searing sky
Rivers of dust flow
Cactus man to make the scenery
With all their charm
Flowering at morn
Sand chokes in the dust storms
No escape
Bivouac impossible
Simply ride through
A simple life led on the edge
Pot boiling to make the tea
Sipped slowly
In the night talk
When morning comes
On the  move again.
