Without resorting to human form the painting sets out to capture the abstract, dislocated sense of modern life. Influences are modern theatre and dance which, through their visual and aural forms, reflect the complexities of our mental lives with their discontinuities and incoherences. The austere upward, repeated forms reflect the strange beauty of the sharpness of modern architecture which attempt to conceal function behind form.
The motion suggested in the picture attempts to illustrate our fascination with the dynamic and abhorrence of the static.
