Towards Better Democracy

Good words, well written, better the world. Good literature betters the world immeasurably.

Happy is the man

Happy is the man
Who can look squarely at the world
Not defiantly, but with truth
Meeting the flinching gaze
Eyes avoiding

Happy is the man
Who knows himself
Lives with heart right
Thoughts straight
Knowing that what he hears
And sees is mostly
Spurious

Happy is the man who
Lives in substance
Not given to the emphemeral
The centuries hardly touched
But a mark among others
For what is offered
His Art

Creation of his
Soul.
