Towards Better Democracy

Good words, well written, better the world. Good literature betters the world immeasurably.

Malevolent angel

Malevolent angel
Not standing guard
Only by appearance
Holy

Seeks and does harm
Wreathed in smiles and soft
Beguiling charm
Cossets and demand

The unholy

In a garden long ago
We posited this
Of how not all in Nature
Is as it seems
Seeks and intends evil
Only harm to do

We are not sinless, that is true
But, for the most part, we do not
Intend harm to others
But spend out time
Hurting ourselves

But still
There are others who
In malicious glee
Make an orgy of conniving
In our self inflicted pain

Why
Why this evil
Among those who seem like us

Harbour within them
Far greater pain than ours
Insensible
Incomprehensible

Ii is therefore our ignorance
That creates
And is threatened by
What appears inhuman

Suffering in all forms is not
Pretty
And sometimes is
Grotesque.
