drams of abundance found Copyright the Artist
The idea of dreams of abundance found is to distort the viewers’ sense of reality, of how the room should look and challenge them to make sense of the distortion.
The work draws on the long history of Surrealism which seek to create a setting which cannot exist in reality. The pleasure for viewers stems from being placed in a visual situation which requires them to reajust their sense of reality to accomodate what they see.
The challenge for the artist is to maintain a visual coherence which is not beyond the bounds of probabilty and to stay within the viewers’ ability to ajust to what is shown.
